Additional lists and generators for SQL Data Generator 1.2.

*To install the configuration and lists, you will need to extract the zip files into the config directory in the installed location. For example C:\Program Files\Red Gate\SQL Data Generator 1\Config

*To install the generators, extract the zip files into the generators directory. For example C:\Program Files\Red Gate\SQL Data Generator 1\Generators

RedGate.SDG.UnitTesting allows you to use the SDG as part of your unit tests. Visit http://www.simple-talk.com/sql/sql-tools/using-sql-data-generator-with-your-unit-tests/ for more information

The next time you start the application, the lists and generators will be available to select and use.

If you have requests for generators you would like to see here, please let us know via the issue tracker.
If you have your own work you would like to contribute then please either create a patch and upload it or contact us via the forums.

You will need to download the correct version of the generators related to the version you have installed. If you have upgraded to 1.2, then please re-download and deploy the assemblies.

COMMENTED ISSUE: Project Settings not saving

On a foreign key field setting the generation method to anything other than "All Key Values Unique" is list when the project is saved and re-opened. We have a fairly complex database of 50+ tables with multiple foreign keys and having to set them all each time is time consuming and error prone.

I see you posted this on our forum http://www.red-gate.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?t=6852 we have a patch for this that we are giving out to people that ben should have emailed to you. If anyone else needs this fix then add a post to that link and we will send you a patch. This will be fixed in the next release.

This site hosts custom generators and lists for Red Gate’s SQL Data Generator application. The project includes generators created by the SQL Data Generator team and by members of the SQL community which can be used within your project files.

More information on using SQL Data Generator within your automated tests can be found at http://www.simple-talk.com/sql/sql-tools/using-sql-data-generator-with-your-unit-tests/. You can download the code and assemblies from the the Release tab. We would really like to hear your feedback on this and see if it is something the application should incorporate.

Over the following months, we will be continuing to add new generators onto the site which you can take and use within the application. However, we really want to host other people's generators as well! We want to promote your excellent work and allow for others to benefit, so if you have created custom items then please contact us.

Information about Lists and Generators

Lists

Name	Description	URL
UK Config	This zip contains a set of lists for UK addresses. The download includes UK Post Code, UK Counties UK Cities and UK Towns,	Original post http://www.simple-talk.com/community/blogs/davidc/archive/2008/01/10/45721.aspx
CA Config	This download is a set of lists for Canada based on a users request. Contains Post codes and Provinces.
User Agent	Regular expression configuration for common (and not so common) user agents strings. User agent strings are what browsers identify themselves as to websites and are used in tracking systems.

Generators

Name	Description	URL
Waffle Generator	Fills you column with large amounts of text, with or without valid HTML tags.	Original article http://www.simple-talk.com/dotnet/.net-tools/the-waffle-generator/
IPv4 Generator	Generate valid IPv4 addresses. You can specify if the addresses should be Class A, B or C and if they should be local or remote.
Password Generator	Generate a password encrypted with optional Salt using MD5, SHA1, SHA256, SHA384 or SHA512. Password can be a random string or data in another column in the row (so you can use it).
Code Generator	Code Generator is a really great generator. No messing around, just write C# directly in the application, click compile and use it to generate data!
